The Register of Public Notifications can be found on Privacy at Western Sydney University.

The University has engaged Australia’s national identity and cyber support service IDCARE on an ongoing basis to provide advice and support to you, free of charge. 

IDCARE can help you protect your personal information that has been impacted, and help you understand what it means if you have received more than one notification.

You can visit https://www.idcare.org/wsu-incident-response or call them on 1800 595 160, quoting the relevant WSU incident number, which is listed on each incident notification webpage, and in the individual notifications themselves.

If you would like to know more about cyber safety and security, cyber incidents and how you can better protect yourself online, the following resources might be helpful.

  • The Australian Signals Directorate’s Australian Cyber Security Centre (ASD's ACSC) leads the Australian Government's efforts on cyber security. The gov.au website includes information on:
    • Interactive tools and advice to boost your online safety, including how to recognise and report scams and how to set secure passphrases.
    • Advice and information about how to protect yourself online, including securing accounts and devices and how you can stay safe online.
    • Common online security risks and advice on what you can do to protect yourself.
    • Information on how to respond to cyber threats and take steps to protect yourself from further harm.
  • The IDCARE Learning Centre has information about how to prepare, prevent, detect and respond to scams, identity theft and cyber security concerns. This includes fact sheets and ‘how to’ videos to help you make your devices secure, learn how to protect your phone and install antivirus software.
