A note about the Academic Procession music: "The piece of music is called From Clans of Land and Sea and starts with the didgeridoo which is then joined by brass quintet who suggest a call to all present. It is an acknowledgement of learners from near and far - our Australian Indigenous through to international visitors. The piece moves steadily between celebratory and meditative sections, always moving forward, just as we do in learning, unfolding perhaps in ways we had not expected. It finishes again with the didgeridoo, a suggestion of this land and it's peoples, so bookending the piece." (Dr Christopher Sainsbury - composer and Dharug person)
