The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree is undertaken as a supervised program of original research.
It is suited to those with some research training and experience, but who do not meet the eligibility criteria for direct entry into the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Note: Applications for research programs are accepted at any time with successful candidates commencing on a quarterly intake basis.

The depth of research required for a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is less than that required for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). In some cases, it is possible to use the Master of Philosophy as a pathway to upgrade to a Doctor of Philosophy.
The Master of Philosophy is completed within a minimum period of 1 year full-time and a maximum period of 2 years full-time, or the part-time equivalent.
Students with limited research training or experience are advised to undertake the Master of Research (MRes).

As a laboratory technician, you will be responsible for supporting research activities in a clinic or research facility. You may assist with preparing specimens, carrying out tests and analysis, and maintaining equipment.

Research Project Manager
As a research project manager, you will be responsible for managing high level projects in settings such as government departments, industry or independent research institutions. Your role may include managing large budgets, coordinating the evaluation of projects, advising on strategic direction and liaising with multiple stakeholders.

*The tuition fees quoted above are the fees for the normal full-time study load of the program (80 credit points) per annum. International students will be subject to a variable fee regime; i.e. enrolled students will be required to pay fees during their program based on the approved fee for each calendar year. Fee changes (if any) will occur at 1 January each calendar year. Students who extend their program past the normal finish date of the program will be required to pay additional fees based on the prevailing fee level.
