HSC True Reward is Western’s early offer program for NSW Year 12 students. Your Year 11 and Year 12 subject results could secure you a place at Western before your exams even begin.

HSC True Reward recognises the results that reflect your strengths and interests – not just your ATAR.
Instead of waiting until the end of Year 12, you could receive an early conditional offer to study at Western based on your Year 11 subject results or an unconditional offer on your Year 12 subject results.
If you receive an early HSC True Reward conditional offer, all you need to do is complete your HSC to satisfy the conditions of the offer*. Then you can head into your HSC exams knowing where you’re going next.

HSC True Reward assesses how you perform in the subjects that relate to your chosen degree. Some early offer rounds use your Year 11 results, so you can apply now without waiting for your final exams.

Select the courses you’re interested in studying and check to make sure they’re not on our list of ineligible courses.
Your Year 11 and/or Year 12 subject results will be assessed against minimum result or band requirements set for each course, which you can check on the Subject Bands webpage. You don’t even need to upload your results to your application – both Year 11 and Year 12 results will be sourced on your behalf.
If you meet the subject requirements for the degree you have chosen, you could receive a conditional offer as early as September – before ATARs are released!
If you’ve received a conditional offer, once you’ve completed your HSC*, your offer will become unconditional.
If you’re applying using your Year 12 results, you may receive an unconditional offer.
*Those that apply using their Year 11 results will need to successfully complete the HSC by achieving a minimum of one Year 12 HSC subject result.
A conditional offer means you’ve been provisionally accepted into a course, as long as you meet certain requirements. For HSC True Reward, this means achieving the specified results in your HSC or completing any required subjects. It gives you early certainty about your place at uni, so you can focus on your exams knowing what you’re working towards.

The following degrees are excluded from the True Reward program for students who undertake the HSC in 2026 due to additional selection criteria and capped placements.
