Western Sydney University has a world class teaching and research team in the discipline of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The discipline has achieved Level 5 status (well above the world standard) in the 2018 Excellence in Research for Australia ranking and is in the global top 150 in the 2019 Academic Rankings of World Universities.

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering discipline at Western is a world leader in neuromorphic engineering research and development and in control theory. We conduct significant research in digital signal processing, telecommunication, image processing and recognition, bioelectronics and energy systems to address the Grand Challenges for Engineering as envisaged by National Academy of Engineering.

This discipline endeavours to embed current theoretical development and engineering practices into our undergraduate and postgraduate education. We provide students with an excellent learning experience as evidenced through student lead projects, such as the Solar Car Project and the Sustainable Housing Project.
