Navigating Collaborative Research: Technology & Impact for Young People
Date: 31 October 2022, 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm AEDT
Location: Online seminar
The Young and Resilient Research Centre invites you to an online seminar to celebrate research, as a part of Research Week 2022 at Western Sydney University.
Join a panel of researchers, service providers and young people sharing their experiences in producing and participating in impactful research that results in real world change.
The panel will share how our research facilitates valuable and transformative change in the lives of young people by assisting organisations, service providers and policymakers to cater for the young people they seek to reach.
Join us to hear about what goes behind the scenes of producing research, including how stakeholders collaborate and the negotiations involved. We'll talk about how we ensure accurate portrayal of the experiences of young people, and how we navigate the influence of diversity and unequal power relationships for those involved.
This seminar will explore:
- How can peer-to-peer digital platforms help young people’s mental health?
- How can health authorities communicate effectively with young people?
- How can councils cater for disadvantaged communities?
- How can global standards for digital wellbeing reflect the diverse backgrounds and experience of young people around the world?
- How do we research resilience in hyper-diverse places?
The session will be of interest to service providers, young people, researchers, policymakers, and technologists engaging with research in their work.
