Professor Karen Liu


Adjunct Professor in Occupational Therapy


Karen Liu is an occupational therapist who has practised in Australia, Hong Kong and the USA for over 30 years. She received a PhD in rehabilitation sciences specialising in neurological rehabilitation. Her clinical, teaching, and research areas include physical and neurological rehabilitation paediatric and geriatric rehabilitation. Karen is a Fellow of the Occupational Therapy Australia Research Academy.

  • Strategies in rehabilitation to enhance functional regain in older adults and different clinical conditions
  • Strategies to improve learning in children with developmental disabilities
  • Dementia caregivers’ education
  • Physical activities to enhance people’s cognitive and physical functioning
