Biography

A/Prof Salter’s research is focused on complex trauma, gendered violence and child sexual abuse. He specialises in qualitative research with survivors of complex trauma and multi-sectorial analyses of policy and practice responses to sexual exploitation, child abuse and violence against women. His work addresses the primary prevention of abuse and violence, early intervention and tertiary responses to victims and perpetrators of interpersonal violence. He is a member of the board of directors of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation and he is an Associate Editor of Child Abuse Review. He was the 2018 recipient of the Morton Prince Award for Scientific Achievement from the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation.
