Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Future Students Information Evenings
Western’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Future Students Information Evenings are an opportunity for members of the community to learn about the wide range of course on offer and how Western can assist you during your studies. Different pathways to study, scholarships, life on campus and the range of support services on offer are also covered.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Rural Student Visit Program (Year 10-11)
Each year, Western Sydney University offers Year 10-12 students from rural and remote schools throughout NSW the opportunity to visit Western and have a university experience. Staying for four nights in accommodation located near our Hawkesbury campus, students will visit three different campuses and engage in a range of day and evening events including fun and educational workshops, lectures, tours of our facilities and university information seminars. The program also includes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness sessions, social get-togethers and a formal dinner with local Aboriginal elders and community members, guest speakers and Western Sydney University staff and current students. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pathway Program Testing Days
At Western, we’re committed to providing higher education pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Those students who do not have an HSC or equivalent qualification or have an ATAR lower than required for their chosen course can apply to study through our Pathway Program. Applications are accepted throughout the year with assessment workshops scheduled in January, June and November. Students will be required to attend two assessment days (Essay and Numeracy).
