The College offers Nationally Recognised Training for eligible people who would like to work and study in the vocation of their choice!
Through the Smart and Skilled program, we help people in NSW get the skills they need to find a job and build their careers. Qualifications are offered at a Certificate III, IV and Diploma level. Further information on Smart and Skilled funding can be found here.
Training is undertaken through a combination of intensive workshops, self-paced study and coaching with industry experts. You work progressively through your subjects over a 12-month period. Diploma graduates are eligible to receive up to 80 credit points towards a bachelor’s degree at Western Sydney University!

A person is eligible to be registered to undertake a fully funded new entrant traineeship when employed:
- For less than 3 months as a full-time, or full-time (equivalent) as a part-time or casual staff member, or a combination of these prior to commencement of the traineeship.
- For less than 12 months as a part-time or part-time (equivalent) or casual employee prior to the commencement of the traineeship.
- For less than 12 months in a combination of part-time, casual, and full-time (or equivalent) employment prior to the commencement of the traineeship.
Post-traineeship higher education pathways provide College trainees with excellent career progression options whilst offering employers fabulous strategies to retain their newly developed employee.

If you would like to register yourself or raise an enquiry on behalf of a team member or newly hired employee:
- Complete the Smart and Skilled Traineeship application form online here.
- For existing workers, we will need to liaise with the employer and an Apprenticeship Network Provider to confirm the details for enrolment. Fees may apply in this instance.
- Once completed a Course Advisor will contact you to organise a meeting and discuss eligibility.
- Upon confirming eligibility, the Traineeship may be registered and commenced.
There are a range of incentives that employers may be eligible to receive, after their hiring a trainee under the Australian Apprenticeships system:
Training Included
Your trainee will receive nationally recognised training from the College, in a range of topics and subjects that will help them perform in the role.
Hiring Incentive
The Hiring Incentive supports a trainee undertaking a Certificate II or above qualification that is not listed on the Australian Apprenticeships Priority List. A payment of $1,750, for a full-time trainee and $875 for part-time trainee is made at 6 and 12 months after commencement.
Priority Wage Subsidy
The Priority Wage Subsidy is a wage subsidy for employers of trainees who are training towards an occupation listed on the Australian Apprenticeships Priority List. Employers can claim 10% of wages paid to the trainee for the first and second 12-month period (up to $1,500 per quarter) and 5% of the wages paid to the trainee for the third 12-month period (up to $750 per quarter).
Disability Australian Apprentice Wage Support
The Disability Australian Apprentice Wage Support aims to encourage employers to provide Australian Apprenticeships to people with disability who are undertaking a Certificate II or a higher-level qualification.
Employers of Australian Apprentices who have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) are eligible to attract the Disability Australian Apprentice Wage Support.
The Disability Australian Apprentice Wage Support is a wage subsidy of $104.30 per week for a full- time Australian Apprentice, or on a pro-rata basis according to the hours worked for a part time Australian Apprentice. Payments are made to employers for 12 months in the case of a long-term or permanent disability or a specific period in the case of a temporary disability.
