A platform for multifaceted climate-adaptive building envelopes

Project Summary

This research aims to develop an adaptive structural framework utilising recyclable and reusable materials to support sustainable, long-term building solutions. The framework will be designed to accommodate variations in architectural designs and adapt to functional changes throughout a building’s lifecycle. By enabling flexibility and scalability, the project seeks to facilitate both mass production and mass customisation of eco-adaptive modular buildings, promoting efficient resource use and reducing construction waste. Through innovative material selection, modular design optimisation, and advanced manufacturing techniques, this framework will advance the integration of sustainability and adaptability in modular construction, addressing evolving environmental and urbanisation challenges.
