Dr Yatin Mahajan

Research Program: Brain Sciences

Biography

My research explores brain/neural mechanisms underpinning auditory and multisensory processing from developmental and ageing perspectives. I use neurophysiological methods such as Electroencephalography (EEG), behavioural and objective cognitive measures to investigate my research goals. I also study how speech is perceived in challenging listening situations such as in the presence of noise and in individuals with hearing loss.

I completed my Masters in Audiology from the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, University of Mysore, and joined Macquarie Centre for Cognitive Science, Macquarie University for my PhD. I was a MARCS Institute's career development research fellow and a Hearing CRC postdoc in the Multisensory Communication group from 2013 to early 2018.
