    Online, project-based learning with optional face-to-face sessions on Western Sydney University campus.
  • Mode of Delivery
    The course is delivered using a blended learning model, combining online, structured training with optional face-to-face sessions.
  • Course Duration
    The estimated duration of the course is 6-12 months.

    Students should also allow for 12-15 hours of self-guided learning per week. Time to complete the course may vary depending on experience and support needs.

Course Details

Practice-Based Learning Projects:

  • Embark on four dynamic projects designed to earn you four micro-credentials.
  • Stack these micro-credentials to qualify for the BSB30120 Certificate III in Business.

    • Led by experienced teachers to provide intensive support and guidance to excel in projects, whether working collaboratively in teams or independently.
  • Visiting Industry Representatives to provide mentoring.
  • This program provides you with the chance to master Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Word. Through this initiative, you'll have the opportunity to sharpen your skills and certify your expertise through official exams. Plus, when you opt for this program, the course fee will cover one certification program of your choice.

What you need to study

Entry Requirements

Students must be enrolled in a Diploma program with Academic Pathways Program at Western Sydney University - The College and be eligible for Smart and Skilled subsidised training or be prepared to pay a fee of $1,320.

General Smart and Skilled Eligibility requirements (additional eligibility criteria may also be assessed):

  • 15 years old or over
  • No longer at school
  • Living or working in NSW
  • an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen  

Further information on fee-free and subsidised training for eligible students can be accessed at NSW Smart and Skilled (NSW residents only). Subsidised training places are limited.

Educational requirements:

Students should have a Year 10 School Certificate or equivalent to meet the LLN requirements of the course. Anyone without a Certificate will be required to complete a LLN assessment to ensure they have the level of skills and experience to undertake the training program.

  • BSBPEF301 Organise personal work priorities
  • BSBWRT311 Write simple documents
  • BSBTEC301 Design and produce business documents
  • BSBTEC302 Design and produce spreadsheets
  • BSBTEC303 Create electronic presentations

Assessments

Completion of the four projects successfully serves as the assessment for the qualification. Each project completion results in the attainment of one micro-credential and the successful achievement of competency in associated units of competency.

In this course, you will undertake summative and formative assessments, write reports, and participate in role-playing scenarios.

You will also be working on a variety of projects that require your own research as well as answering various written/oral questions that apply the theory you learn.

Recognition of Prior Learning

You may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer (CT) provided that you have supporting evidence of any prior education and work experience. This can either reduce your study load or shorten the duration of your course. Applications for these credits can be made following enrolment in the course.

Further Information

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. It is likely that these individuals are establishing their own work performance.

Individuals in these roles carry out a range of routine procedural, clerical, administrative or operational tasks that require technology and business skills. They apply a broad range of competencies using some discretion, judgment and relevant theoretical knowledge. They may provide technical advice and support to a team.

Fees

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government via Smart and Skilled for Eligible Students.

Eligible, College-enrolled students can receive a sponsorship form The College to enter the program with support that covers the student enrolment fees. Full fee paying students are also eligible to enrol at a rate of $1320.
