Research Program: Music Cognition and Action

Biography

I was awarded my PhD from the University of New South Wales in 2009. My doctoral research focused on the cognitive and motivational processes that underlie group learning processes in schools.

Currently, my research focuses on the impact of cognitive load on human performance, the testing effect, collaborative learning, digital technologies for learning, and mentoring practices. I specialise in experimental design and large-scale survey studies and use a range multivariate techniques including, multilevel modelling and structural equation modelling.

Research Interests

Cognitive Load Theory and Effects, Collaborative Learning, The Testing Effect,  Digital Technologies, Human Motivation, Mentoring, Instructional Design.
