Mental imagery is fundamental to the process of psychotherapeutic practices such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) in treating a variety of disorders. One particular mental health issue that will be focused on in this study is anxiety since the cognitive factor is important in finding the cause of abnormal conditions, mediation, and maintenance of anxiety. In the context of a stressful situations, music listening behaviour may be used in order to help individuals supporting their mental health and this project will explore on how individuals apply mental imagery when listening to music as an attempt to reduce anxiety in general.
