Using Ecological Momentary Assessments to Understand Patterns of Wellbeing Among Adolescents in Western Sydney (MPhil)

Translational Health Research Institute

Lead Researcher: Doctor Elizabeth Conroy

About the project

The Translational Health Research Institute (THRI) is located on the Campbelltown Campus of Western Sydney University and is the University’s primary vehicle for advancing health and medical research in Western Sydney and beyond. THRI operates across a number of multidisciplinary themes including: health, culture and society; health and wellness across the lifespan; and mental health and wellbeing.

We are now offering a research scholarship to a highly motivated Master of Philosophy (MPhil) (opens in a new window) candidate to work within a research group exploring the physical, mental and social wellbeing of adolescents in greater Western Sydney.

This project will use Ecological Momentary Assessments to understand predictors of wellbeing among two cohorts of adolescents: a community sample of adolescents and a clinical sample of adolescents with sub-acute mental health problems.

What does the scholarship provide?

  • Domestic candidates will receive a tax-free stipend of $15,000(AUD) per annum for up to 1 year to support living costs, supported by the Research Training Program (RTP) Fee Offset.
  • International candidates will receive a tax-free stipend of $15,000(AUD) per annum for up to 1 year to support living costs. Those with a strong track record will be eligible for a tuition fee waiver.
  • Support for conference attendance, fieldwork and additional costs as approved by the Institute.

International candidates are required to hold an Overseas Student Health Care (OSHC) (opens in a new window) insurance policy for the duration their study in Australia. This cost is not covered by the scholarship.
