THRI Members' achievements at the Ingham Institute’s 6th Annual Awards Night

Assoc. Prof. Ajesh George (SoNM, THRI) and the Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism Translational Research Unit (DOMTRU) both won awards at the Ingham Institute’s 6th Annual Awards Night.

The Ingham Institute Awards Night is a signature event celebrating world-class health and medical research undertaken in south west Sydney.

Dr George and colleagues won the Best Community and Population Health Paper Award for their research paper “The oral health behaviours and fluid consumption practices of young urban aboriginal preschool children in south-western Sydney, New South Wales, Australia”. (opens in a new window)

The DOMTRU (opens in a new window) Team were presented with the South West Sydney Research Collaborative Achievement Award for providing new and additional services to local diabetes patients. DOMTRU is an academic research unit led by Prof. David Simmons (SoM, THRI) that works as a partnership between SWSLHD and Western Sydney University. Associate Professor Vincent Wong accepted the Award on behalf of DOMTRU.
