MARCS success at UWS Undergraduate Scholarship Presentation Day

MARCS success at UWS Undergraduate Scholarship Presentation DayMARCS Institute is pleased to announce success at the UWS Undergraduate Student Research Summer Scholarship Presentation Day for 2014/15. 

The event was held on Wednesday 25 February 2015 at UWS Werrington South Campus, and involved 45 interns from across the University presenting a three-minute thesis (3MT) on their summer scholarship project. 

10 MARCS Institute interns were involved on the day and were among the best presenters out of the 43 presentations. They are pictured right, with MARCS internship coordinator Associate Professor Paola Escudero. 

MARCS and School of Social Sciences and Psychology intern Nicole Traynor (pictured below) won the competition. Her presentation was entitled "The Role of Evaluative Conditioning in Infant Word Learning". 

The three judges, Dr Alphia Possamai-Inesedy (Graduate Research School), Dr Andre Urfer (REDI)
 and Danielle Lacey (UWS Careers), commented that Nicole addressed all of the criteria beautifully. 

Nicole was supervised by Associate Professor Paola Escudero, along with Dr Gabrielle Weidemann and Dr Rachel Robbins. 

Other MARCS interns who took part in the Presentation Day included Rose Berdebes, Lorinda Chick, Harrison Cook, Jacob Crouse, Michael Muir, Gloria Pino, Christina Quattropani, Stacey Sherwood, and Stephen Smith.
