Topic: An overview of open-science practices and how to adopt (some of) them in your work. Speaker: Dr Tijl Grootswagers
Open science is an umbrella term for research practices to improve accessibility, transparency, reproducibility, and replicability. Open science has driven the creation of useful tools that can help achieve this goal. However, the large number of new procedures and terminology can seem overwhelming to those starting. This often leads to confusion about different terms and their meanings and a perception that open science is an all-or-none approach. To help tackle these issues, I will outline various open science practices, discuss their benefits and difficulties, and demonstrate how I have been incrementally adopting them in my work.
We thank you for your continued attendance at the MRM's and look forward to seeing you again.
MARCS staff and students are reminded that all meetings and workshops have an important role in building and maintaining the sense of community which is central to the success of MARCS as a cooperative and energetic research institute. Your attendance is both welcomed and expected.
Disclaimer: MRM meetings may be recorded on Zoom for future access to MARCS members and subject to speaker's approval
