Topic: Conversation: the older listening-talker
Speaker: Prof. Chris Davis

In this brief talk, Chris will outline the background and provide details of our recent ARC Discovery project, “Investigating the Characteristics of Older Adults' Conversation Behaviour”.  Conversations are a key component of social engagement, and lack of social engagement in older adults can lead to a range of health problems. This project aims to determine some of the main factors that play a role in older adults’ engagement in and satisfaction with social conversations. The project builds on models that are solely concerned with the difficulties that older adults face in speech processing and aims to collect data about how older adults engage in an interactive conversation.

This will be presented both on Zoom (via our meeting ID above) and in 3.G.55 as part of the back to campus plan
