Biography: Professor Michelle Trudgett, is a proud Wiradjuri woman recognised for her significant contribution to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education. Professor Trudgett’s research, particularly her doctoral thesis, has been a catalyst for policy change aimed at increasing the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who enrol in postgraduate study and her outstanding contributions saw her named the National NAIDOC Scholar of the Year in 2018. In her current role at WSU, Professor Trudgett is deeply passionate about ensuring that all students and staff at the University have the opportunity to meaningfully engage with Indigenous Knowledges.
