Presenter: Dr Nigel Nettheim

Topic: Is maternal love a basic emotion? With applications to the study of expressive gesture and music.

Biography:  Dr Nigel Nettheim has been an honorary adjunct follow with the MARCS Institute since 2001 and regularly attends the MARCS Monday Meetings. He has lectured in Statistics at ANU, was a mathematics statistician at the United States Bureau of the Census, Washington and was also  connected to the Piano Faculty of the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto, Canada.  Neil was a Research fellow  with the NSW Conservatorium of Music, Sydney and a Lecturer with the Australian Institute of Music.
