What is 3MT?

Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is a competition that celebrates the exciting research conducted by higher degree research students. It is a skills development opportunity that challenges students to explain their research project to a non-specialist audience in three minutes using only one slide.

Benefits of participating in 3MT

3MT is a great way to showcase your research project to a whole new audience and engage with your colleagues at Western Sydney University and the wider research community.

There are cash prizes for the winners of the 3MT Finals and the opportunity to represent Western Sydney University at the Asia-Pacific 3MT Competition.

The 3MT competition also supports you in developing your capacity to effectively explain your research in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

We thank you for your continued attendance at the MMM's.  Let's keep the momentum going.

MARCS staff and students are reminded that all meetings and workshops have an important role in building and maintaining the sense of community which is central to the success of MARCS as a cooperative and energetic research institute.  Your attendance is both welcomed and expected.
