Topic: BabyLab Podcast series on how babies learn to communicate.

The Podcast is an eight-part series launching this month and aimed at educating and informing Australian parents. This new partnership and engagement model is part of a broader strategy to drive awareness of the BabyLab, the new Westmead BabyLab facility and to increase Western Sydney University’s profile as a change-maker within the broader community.

Dr Christa Lam-Cassettari is a Researcher in Infant Studies and Acting Leader of the MARCS BabyLab. Her research focuses on factors that affect early language acquisition, including the role of infant-directed speech in supporting early communication, and the extent to which infant responsiveness shapes caregiver responsiveness and the quality of speech input.

CoEDL Fest is the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language’s annual conference. Hosted by Western Sydney University in 2019, the event took place over four days with more than 100 researchers and guests from Western Sydney University, Australian National University, Melbourne and Queensland Universities.
