What does an effective health and medical precinct look like? What does it do? How can community and health service users engage in precincts? And most importantly, how can a precinct impact on health and wellbeing?

Join us in the morning and find out about how successful partnerships and precincts operate. Be part of the discussion with community, clinical, academic and industry leaders and have your say. In the afternoon, focus switches to specific areas of partnership – Neuroscience, Health Workforce, Musculoskeletal Health and Mental Health.

Neuroscience Forum - from 1pm

The Neuroscience Forum will take place on the afternoon of the Health and Wellbeing Theme Day(opens in a new window) during Western Sydney University’s Research Week(opens in a new window). ‘Partnerships’ is the theme of the Health & Wellbeing Day.

Bringing together researchers from Westmead Hospitals and Western Sydney University, the Neuroscience Forum will begin with a keynote presentation by leading neuroscientist Professor Jürgen Götz Foundation Chair of Dementia Research Director, Clem Jones Centre for Ageing Dementia Research (CJCADR), Queensland Brain Institute. There will be six invited short presentations from Hospital and university researchers. The final session will include opportunities for exploring areas of mutual interest with a view to forming new collaborations.

Hospital and University staff and student researchers are warmly invited to attend and are encouraged to bring a recent conference poster to display and discuss over lunch ahead of the keynote.
