Measuring the benefits of reuse in the circular economy

circular_economyThis project is an Australian Research Council Linkage Project funded led by Monash University and Western Sydney University in collaboration with the Charitable Recycling Australia, the Queensland Department of Environment and ScienceGreen Industries South Australia and Sustainability Victoria.  It uses survey, qualitative interiew, and geospatial analysis to measure the impacts of reuse organisations for the Australian.  As the "hidden dimension" of the circular economy, the ecological, as well as social impacts of the sector are frequently missed. This project aims to develop a robust measure for valuing and representing sector impact in part by highlighting the diversity of reuse organizations. The project will also identify key spatial requirements and enabling policies that will help the sector to grow.
