Service Catalogue - Process Information (Pre-kick off)
University services are complex and can be overwhelming to navigate. In the enterprise service survey in 2022, only 32% of respondents said that services are easily accessible, and 33% said they know who to escalate service issues to when needed. These stats have improved in 2023 to 42% and 40% respectively which is a movement in the right direction. However, these numbers are still low. This demonstrates an issue when it comes to finding and accessing services within the university.
What is it?
A Service Catalogue is an organised list of services offered by an organisation. One will be developed at Western to assist staff in accessing services, quickly find what they are looking for and self-serve when appropriate (find the answer themselves).
The service catalogue will cut through organisational complexity by answering the question - 'Who does what?'
The Catalogue will:
- Be simple and easy to navigate, putting service users at the centre of the design.
- Use straightforward language and have a simple layout with limited use of acronyms.
- Assist service areas define their main user groups.
- Assist staff and students to understand service offerings.
It is estimated that developing the service catalogue will take at least six months to complete.
In the interim, we have created a very simple list of service areas and key service activities that may help you understand our service structure a little better.
