Professor Hind Benbya, Dean

Professor Hind Benbya is the Dean of the Business School at Western Sydney University.

Hind has over 20 years of senior leadership experience in Australia and internationally across diverse research, engagement and education roles at the Faculty, School and Department level including Head of Faculty, Research Chair and Department Chair. She has delivered executive education and consulting services to numerous leading organisations in over ten countries across four continents.

Prior to joining Western, Hind was the Founding Director of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Future of Business at Deakin University, where she also served as the Head of School of Information Systems and Business Analytics. Prior to that she has held various leadership positions at universities in Europe and held Professorial visiting positions at the University of Oxford, Cambridge University and the UCLA Anderson Business School.

She is an Association for Information Systems (AIS) distinguished expert in IT-enabled transformation and innovation and her current research focuses on the implications of AI on work and organisations. Her work has appeared in major academic and practitioner journals, including MIS Quarterly, the Journal of Management Information Systems, MIT Sloan Management Review and she is the recipient of several research excellence awards. Professor Benbya also currently holds key editorial positions, as Senior Editor for MIS Quarterly Executive and Editor of MISQ Research Curations, whilst also serving on the editorial board of the Journal of Strategic Information Systems.

Accounting

Western Sydney University offers globally recognised undergraduate and graduate accounting and financial planning programs with accreditation from seven professional bodies.
