English Enhancement Program

This program can only be studied concurrently with being enrolled in the Master Qualifying Program (MQP) at Sydney Graduate School of Management (SGSM), Western Sydney University.

International students will have their student visa Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) with the MQP.

This program enables students to hone their language skills in academic writing, reading, listening and speaking to a high level and prepares them for study in a university environment. Students who successfully pass this program, delivered in conjunction with the MQP program, satisfy the English entry requirements to Western Sydney University.

Duration: 20 weeks over two quarters and includes eight hours of face-to-face classroom time per week.

Students will need to have achieved one of the following for entry in to the program:

Assessment

Students will undertake tests in reading, writing and listening in each quarter as well as assessment tasks throughout. Assessment tasks include writing research reports and essays, presenting seminars, responding to academic articles and lectures, and engaging in spoken dialogues. Study skills are an integral part of the program and will familiarise students with academic study conventions as well as develop critical thinking and independent learning skills.

Exit Requirements

To complete the program, students will need to achieve a 55% pass overall and a pass result in tests and all assessment tasks.
