Biography

Doctor Marzieh Hosseini

Dr. Seyedeh Marzieh Hosseini is a Research Assistant at the Urban Transformation Research Centre (UTRC) and the Centre for Infrastructure Engineering (CIE), at the School of Engineering, Design, and Built Environment (EDBE) at Western Sydney University. Since joining in 2023, she has actively contributed to multiple innovative projects, focusing on the structural integrity of infrastructure and advanced technologies in engineering.

Dr. Hosseini earned her PhD from the University of Technology Sydney in 2021, where her research centered on vibration control using smart sensors and actuators. With a deep-rooted expertise in mechanical and civil engineering, her work primarily explores smart materials and structures, particularly for energy harvesting and vibration control. Her research extends to cutting-edge applications, including an integrated aerial and terrestrial approach for bridge digitization and the development of volumetric modular systems with energy harvesting capabilities. Dr. Hosseini has a publication record with over 15 scholarly articles. Her work covers a broad spectrum, ranging from vibration measurement and control to the use of smart materials in linear and nonlinear systems.
