International student support
We understand that studying in a foreign country can be overwhelming. The University has many services and programs to support you to adjust to your new study environment.
If you’re facing challenges or unexpected problems, the Welfare Service is here to help.
Book an appointment via welfareservice@westernsydney.edu.au or call 1300 668 370 (option 5).
Western Sydney University has an after-hours Student Assistance Line specifically for International students. If you need help after-hours, please call 1300 884 235.
Interpreting and translation services
If you need a document translated you can search for a translator on the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) website. It is recommended that you ask for quotes from at least three translators so that you can choose the cheapest quote.
You may be eligible for free document translating services through The Department of Home Affairs. Please visit their webpage for further information and eligibility criteria.
The Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) provides interpreters. Call 131 450 for phone interpreters and for onsite interpreters call 1300 655 082. Please note in some cases there may be a fee.
Justice of the Peace (JP) services
A Justice of the Peace (JP) is an official independent witness of documents. If you need documents certified by a JP you can search for one in your area using the public register.
A number of Western Sydney University staff members are JP’s. You can find details on the staff directory. Please contact the individual staff member by phone to check their availability.
