The Western Sydney Next Generation Sequencing Facility is situated within the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment, a renowned centre of excellence for ecosystem and environmental research.
As certified Illumina service providers, our dedicated team of scientists takes pride in generating highly reproducible sequencing data on the MiSeq and NovaSeq 6000 platforms. Utilizing our optimized high-throughput production pipelines, we are committed to advancing the field of genomics research.
Our mission is to deliver high-quality, reproducible next-generation sequencing data to researchers of all backgrounds.
As a certified Illumina service provider, we surpass industry standards to deliver an unparalleled, personalized customer service experience. Our cutting-edge, in-house developed protocols facilitate efficient DNA library preparation even from challenging, low-quality, or limited starting materials. Handling complex host-derived samples is seamless for our team, as our specialized procedures effectively eliminate high levels of host DNA prior to sequencing, enhancing the detection sensitivity of low-abundance microbial species.
Employing robotics and a miniaturized 384-well fully automated NGS pipeline, we ensure highly reproducible sequencing libraries and cost reductions. Our laboratory operates under stringent standardized procedures, incorporating rigorous quality control checkpoints throughout our pipeline to guarantee the delivery of top-tier data to our clients.
Sample Submission
Before submitting samples, please carefully review the sample submission guide corresponding to your selected sequencing platform (either MiSeq or NovaSeq). This guide contains crucial details such as the required concentration of your DNA or RNA sample, submission volume, plate layout specifications, and other pertinent information. Failure to adhere to the submission guide for your chosen platform may result in the rejection of your samples or could incur additional costs.
Once you have thoroughly reviewed the sample submission guide, download the sample submission sheet specific to your chosen platform (either MiSeq or NovaSeq) and complete all necessary information. The finalised sample submission sheet should be uploaded when filling out and submitting the online sample submission form for either MiSeq or NovaSeq. In addition to this, you will need to attach a gel photo as evidence of amplification.
We have included a list of our metagenomic primer sets and the regions they target to assist you in selecting the appropriate primers for your metagenomic project.
