Biography

Koldo Basterretxea (BSc Physics, MSc Physics, MEng Electronics&Automatic Control, PhD Physics) is an Associate Proffessor at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Spain. Dr Basterretxea teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on Digital Embedded Systems Design using both traditional microprocessors and reconfigurable devices (FPGAs&PSocS). His research has been focused on the development of high performance embedded adaptive systems for different applications, mainly related to the use of ANNs and other computational intelligence paradigms. In the last years he has been investigating the applicability of hyperspectral imaging to the development of intelligent vision systems for autonomous driving/navigation. Currently Dr Basterretxea is interested in exploring the potentials of neuromorphic vision sensors and neuromorphic information processing to this area.
