Based in Greater Sydney, the Chinese Medicine Centre serves one of Australia’s most culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. We have built strong partnerships with local areas
to promote health, wellbeing, and cultural understanding through TraditionalChinese Medicine (TCM).
Chinese medicine exists to heal — to ease suffering and restore balance. Education exists to inspire — to nurture the next generation of compassionate, skilled health professionals.
Our community work is the best example of this integration: at the heart of our mission, our students are the bridge between learning and healing — applying what they learn to real-world community health projects. Through research, service, and collaboration, the Centre connects ancient wisdom with modern community needs, advancing both knowledge
and care.
The Chinese Medicine Centre actively engages with the community by offering language services and cultural support, addressing the diverse needs of our patients and visitors from
various cultural backgrounds.
The Chinese Medicine Centre supports the cultural exchange of Chinese medicine health and wellbeing knowledge with evidence-based practice to benefit Australian society. Our aim is to increase community awareness of the health and wellbeing benefits of Chinese medicine as an integral part of health care inAustralia.
The Centre stands as a vibrant hub for cultural exchange, community education and engagement, seeking to benefit Australian society by disseminating the knowledge and culture in Chinese medicine. This pursuit is aimed at increasing awareness, acceptance and understanding of the ancient healing art. By offering a diverse range of programs and initiatives, the Centre functions as a valuable resource for all health disciplines within the university partners, catalysing the formation of strong relationships and productive partnerships.
Engagement activities include:
- Public education materials to inform and educate the community about the benefits of Chinese medicine.
- Evidence-based clinical resources to showcase the effectiveness of Chinese medicine in treating common health conditions, to promote engagement activities and inform policy and practice.
- Public education forums to reach specific population groups in the Sydney area, including high school students, the general public, cancer survivors, and Western medical doctors.
- Public workshops to build local community awareness and capture public interest in Chinese medicine.
