22 - 24 November

Is it time to hit reset?

Since the last CatalystWest, the people of Western Sydney have done it tough. Fires, floods and the COVID-19 pandemic have hit the region hard, with fundamental questions raised about the ways in which we do things. As the region starts to turn the corner we are confronted with the question – is it enough to bounce back, or should we bounce forward instead?

Together, Western Sydney can hit the reset button, making headway on the critical issues that we can solve as a region.

Western Sydney - Where to from here?

Thursday 24 November

Western Sydney could hold the answers to some of the nation’s most urgent challenges including climate resilience, physical and digital connectivity and rising costs of living. Day three’s agenda brings together speakers and thinkers from a range of sectors and walks of life to ponder how we can bounce forward as the region recovers from the impacts of COVID-19.

What We’ll Do, Together

Now in its third iteration, Western Sydney University’s CatalystWest forum will see up to 500 collaborators over three days from the community, government and industry come together over three locations across the Parramatta area to envisage how we bounce forward as a region.

Together from pre to post event, and at the forum itself, we will tackle some of the critical challenges and opportunities in Western Sydney. Our provocative, agile and interactive speakers, will confront what we are facing, with local and international experts will share their visions of innovation and change.

And the work doesn’t end after 24 November. The Centre for Western Sydney’s researchers will shape CatalystWest’s outcomes into policy statements that we will collectively take to policy makers and Launch Pad will be driving forward innovation initiatives post event. This is not a talk fest. CatalystWest is driving the conversation as we bounce forward.
