What is Catalyst West?

Catalyst West sessions are an ‘open innovation’ style panels designed to initiate ideas. A range of experts will feature on discussion panels and atmosphere is intended to be vibrant and agile to challenge our mindset, stimulate creative problem-solving surrounding Climate Change. Community Resilience. Physical and Digital Connectivity. Rising Costs of Living. All of these urgent challenges have a disproportionate impact on Western Sydney. By collaborating, there is the opportunity for the region to lead the way collaboratively finding solutions which shape investment and action across the nation.

Each session will be 30-45minute semistructured panel discussion, Q&A time permitting.

How to get to here

1PSQ Western Sydney University Peter Shergold Building, Parramatta City Campus, is located at 169 Macquarie Street in the heart of the Parramatta CBD and a short walk from Parramatta train station. There is no on-campus parking but there are nearby secure carparks and street parking for an hourly rate.

 

 

 

 

 

MC Catalyst West 2022

Elfy Scott is a presenter, journalist, and author.

She’s currently the host of Left Right Out, a Spotify Exclusive podcast that answers burning questions about Australian politics, as well as The Green Canary, a weekly environmental news podcast.

Elfy started out her journalism career in the newsroom of BuzzFeed News as their first science reporter and her work has been featured in The Guardian, The Saturday Paper, Junkee, SBS, and Pedestrian.

Elfy is a passionate story-teller and particularly loves speaking about climate change, science, and mental health.

Her first book 'The One Thing We’ve Never Spoken About' focuses on complex mental health conditions in Australia and will be published by Pantera Press in 2023.
