Reimagining a hub of learning for today and tomorrow
The Whitlam Library at Parramatta South Campus is being reimagined as a mini‑city of learning, a vibrant, welcoming hub where people, ideas and knowledge come together.
Designed for the way our students study, research, create and collaborate, the refurbished Library will bring spaces, services and physical and digital collections into one intuitive, inclusive environment that supports flexible, connected and future‑focused learning.
More than a place to access information, the Whitlam Library will be a shared cultural and knowledge discovery centre that builds connection, confidence and digital capability, and prepares our community for the future of learning.
What the upgrade will deliver
A place to belong
A welcoming, easy‑to‑navigate library where everyone feels safe, supported and confident. Clear wayfinding, a central welcome point and visible support will improve the arrival experience, while natural light, greenery and calm spaces will support wellbeing alongside areas for connection and collaboration.
Learning that’s connected
Purpose‑built spaces will support different ways of learning — from quiet, focused study to group work, online learning and HDR research. Learning support will be visible and embedded, with central service points, drop‑in help and technology‑enabled spaces that build confidence in digital and hybrid learning.
Future‑ready spaces
Flexible, technology‑enabled infrastructure will allow the Library to adapt as learning needs change. Smart rooms, recording spaces and adaptable layouts will support new ways of studying, creating and sharing knowledge, now and into the future.
