Western Sydney University and Western Sydney Local Health District Midwifery Conference

Friday 20th November, 2026

About

The midwifery conference is hosted by the Western Sydney University (WSU) School of Nursing and Midwifery, Mother Infant Family (MIFAM) Research Network and Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) collaboration.

Together, these organisations share a common focus on improving health outcomes for the Western Sydney population. The WSU School of Nursing and Midwifery develops the workforce and generates evidence through research; the MIFaM Network specifically advances maternal, infant, and family health research; and WSLHD translates research and education into clinical services that improve the health and wellbeing of the community.

The annual WSU–WSLHD Midwifery Conference provides a collaborative forum for clinicians, researchers, students and consumers to share contemporary evidence, innovation and best practice in maternity and newborn care. Through partnership between Western Sydney University and Western Sydney Local Health District, the conference promotes research translation, workforce development and improved health outcomes for women, babies and families across Western Sydney and beyond.
