Development of HDR Candidates

The Graduate Researcher Development Framework guides the training and resources that are provided for PhD, MPhil and Masters by Research candidates at Western.

The focus of HDR candidate development is to build depth in the areas that relate to conducting and delivering a research project. This is shown in the centre column of the framework which concentrates on 'Excellence' in research quality and 'Connection' with the end users of research. Excellence is a core value at Western and Connectedness is a guiding principle.

The broad development of self and others is also included, as is shown in the row across the framework.

This framework maps directly to the Researcher Development Framework thereby creating a continuum for candidates who become researchers at Western.
