Staff

Western is committed to supporting our valued staff with their engaged teachings, ongoing learnings, and scholarships through a number of initiatives. Through our growing databases, variety of networks and valued community and corporate partnerships, we can ensure our staff have continued access and support within their careers.

Social Justice Network

Western Sydney University contributes significantly to the community and is a prominent advocate of social justice initiatives more broadly. The Western Sydney University Social Justice Network will bring together and promote the important work undertaken by the University and the Western Sydney community in tackling global and regional injustices.

The Network will identify and foster new opportunities that will contribute to improving social justice outcomes in society, as well as highlight leading researchers and experts, connecting them with students, staff, businesses, community, and government to drive change.

Our focus is to create awareness of social justice issues, acknowledge these issues through various events and initiatives and create access for those who would like to be more informed and contribute to making a change and impact.

Community Partnerships

Western has a range of partnerships and collaborations with community organisations. Iif you are looking to build a partnership with a community organisation either for a research project or for a student learning experience, contact us for guidance.

Community-Engaged Research

Community engagement research differs from traditional research in that the goals of the research are relevant to the community. The source of the research question is a community identified or need. Community members collaborate with the research team, the value of the research is measured by its usefulness to the community and to social change.
