Introduction:

Welcome to the inaugural International Symposium on Carbon Accounting, Reporting and Sustainability 2025 hosted by Western Sydney University - a pioneering event designed to ignite innovation, foster collaboration, and drive strategic dialogue within the vibrant realm of academic research. Western Sydney University stands as a beacon of research excellence, dedicated to cultivating a community where groundbreaking ideas flourish and transformative collaborations take root.

Our symposium aims to provide academics, policymakers, practitioners and businesses with a valuable forum for discussions and critical analyses of the major issues and challenges that interrelate carbon accounting, climate and carbon reporting, assurance of Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, carbon credit and trading and sustainability.

During the symposium, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops, engage with thought-provoking keynote sessions, and collaborate in panel discussions. The goal is to uncover new opportunities and navigate the complexities of modern business and research. You will also have the chance to connect with industry leaders, business professionals, academics, and future employers. PhD students will have the opportunity to present their research and receive feedback from prominent researchers, not only from within Australia but also from all over the world.

The symposium will feature a doctoral workshop on its final day, offering PhD students the chance to meet peers, receive feedback from experienced discussants, and learn from one another.

Together, let's shape the future of academic research, forge lasting collaborations, and champion a culture of excellence and innovation.

Join us as we convene a diverse array of esteemed researchers, scholars, business professionals, practitioners and academics for a dynamic exchange of insights, methodologies, and collaborations.
