Holds
What is a Hold?
If you have failed to meet certain requirements of your enrolment, such as not paying fees by the due date, not providing requested information to the University or completing specific Student Administration forms, a hold will be applied to your student record.
A hold is a sanction applied to your student record in line with the University's policy, which limits your access to University services. The limitations placed on you depend on the type of hold applied to your record.
If you have a hold for any unpaid tuition fees and/or Student Services and Amenities Fees (SSAF):
- You will not be able to access your exam results
- We will not issue academic documents or transcripts
- You will not be able to graduate
- Your access to the University facilities and services, including vUWS will be withdrawn
- Your registration in the current term may be cancelled
- You may not be able to re-register for the next teaching term
Students who have not paid their tuition fees and/or SSAF by the due date will have a hold on their student record. In order to have this hold removed, all outstanding fees must be paid.
View your Charges and Payments in MySR to check the amount outstanding for your hold to be lifted.
Payment made through the secure online Payments portal will allow quick verification of your payment and subsequent removal of your hold.
International students whose enrolment is cancelled due to non payment of fees will be reported to the Department of Home Affairs as required by legislation.

FAQs
If you have a hold on your student record you must pay all outstanding fees before the hold can be lifted.
There are a number of ways you can pay your student fees. Please go to payment options for more information on how you can pay your fees. Alternatively, these are listed on the bottom of your electronic Statement of Account, accessible through My Student Records (MySR).
If you have outstanding debt, any payment made will be allocated to these outstanding amounts first. If the payment you have made is greater than your outstanding debt, then the remaining amount will be paid against your other liabilities such as student contribution or tuition fees.
