Dr. Siegler is a senior member of academic staff in the Sport and Exercise Science Program at Western. His research is focused primarily on improving elite sport performance; broadly including topics such as buffering supplementation and high intensity exercise performance, thermoregulation in team sports, training adaptations in team sports, and injury pre-habilitation and prevention. Most recently, projects have specifically focused on the following:

  • The relationship between blood pH and neural feedback mechanisms during fatiguing exercise
  • Individualising buffer supplementation protocols to improve performance
  • The impact of ischaemic preconditioning on vascular and neuromuscular mechanisms associated with skeletal muscle performance

Further questions related to any of these topic areas should be directed to Dr. Siegler at j.siegler@westernsydney.edu.au.
