Biography

Dr Vanita Yadav is a Senior Research Fellow/ Senior Lecturer at the Urban Transformations Research Centre and also teaches in the School of Business, Western Sydney University. She specializes in strategic management, innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability and governance. Vanita has more than 12 years of diverse experience in research and academia spanning multiple countries like Australia, the USA and India. She is a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright fellowship award for postdoctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA in the area of sustainability driven entrepreneurship and innovation. She was also a research affiliate at the South Asia Institute, Harvard University for her work on innovation management which was cited by the government of India. She has led and worked on interdisciplinary international research projects/grants like the US State-Fulbright Foundation, the Government of India, the Indian Council of Social Science Research, the European Union, CRC and others. Dr Vanita has held many leadership positions, like Discipline Leader of Management and Innovation discipline at the School of Business & Law, Central Queensland University Australia, and founding leader of a Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Strategy & Policy area chairperson at IRMA India.

At Western Sydney University, Dr Vanita is currently working on research projects examining issues of multi-stakeholder governance for climate challenges (like heat and housing), sustainable strategies for enhancing urban green spaces, regenerative business models for sustainable development, and sustainability and entrepreneurship. She has 50+ research publication outputs including Best Paper Awards, supervises Business PhDs and also serves on editorial boards, and speaks at international events as a keynote speaker and expert panelist.
