Biography

Songbo holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree from the University of Sydney (2018) and a PhD from Monash University (2023). Before joining Western Sydney University, he worked as a Research Fellow at Monash University, lecturing/coordinating digital design units and contributing to numerous Building 4.0 CRC research projects. Songbo now imparts his expertise in Digital Design within the Building Design Management and Construction Technology programs.

In his research endeavours, Dr. Songbo Hu is dedicated to enhancing construction safety and automating construction progress monitoring. His work is marked by the use of construction robotics technologies to enhance the safety of construction machinery operations. Additionally, he employs Linked Data techniques to interpret multi-modality data and facilitate an automated understanding of construction activities and their progress.
