Biography

Dr Samudaya Nanayakkara completed his PhD in Engineering from Western Sydney University. In addition, he gained an MSc in Computer Science and BSc Engineering (Honours) degrees from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He is a Gold medallist in University Colours Awards and was recognised on Dean’s List for excellent academic achievements in his undergraduate degree. Further, he has completed a Bachelor of Information Technology degree from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

He has contributed to over 25 large-scale construction digitalisation projects and voluntarily contributed to several global open-source software projects. He has published a number of reputed journal and peer-reviewed conference papers and several book chapters. In addition, he has delivered over 25 keynote, conference, and public presentations. Further, He obtained his Chartered Engineer status for Computer discipline in 2012 from the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka. He has over 15 years of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience in Australia and abroad. Recognising his contribution to the profession, research and academia, Eng Samudaya Nanayakkara was bestowed with several national and international awards, including Sri Lankan National Engineering Excellence Awards 2013.
