Biography

Sam is a Lecturer with the School of Psychology, Western Sydney University and Visiting Fellow with the Department of Developmental Disability Neuropsychiatry (3DN), University of New South Wales. He was recently focused on the Australian Longitudinal Study of Autism in Adulthood (ALSAA), and is now leading a study developing the construct of contribution for application to outcome measurement, funded by the Endeavour Foundation Disability Research Fund 2021 Research Award.

Sam is a registered psychologist with a background in supporting adults with disability in community settings. Prior to conducting research at 3DN, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Disability Studies (CDS), University of Sydney and provided counselling and clinical services at the NSW Developmental Disability Health Unit (DDHU) and the Northern Sydney Intellectual Disability Health Team (NIDH). He completed his PhD in 2016 on the "Measurement and Conceptualisation of Support Needs".
