Biography
As an Associate Lecturer at the School of Law, I teach and research Drug Policy and Law and deliver classes in other subjects, such as Human Rights and Constitutional Law. As a lecturer, I love running courses that develop critical thinking, explore ethical questions and offer space for discussion. As a researcher and advocate, I critically analyse the ‘war on drugs’ and work towards developing more reasonable and compassionate drug laws.
I completed my legal studies at Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland, and obtained a degree in philosophy from the same University. My further studies took me to Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany, where I graduated from an LLM program. After that, I did my PhD in law at Humboldt University in Berlin. My thesis focused on the implications of the 2009-2017 financial crisis for the functioning of the European Union. My expertise covers drug laws and policy, international law, human rights and legal theory.
I have taught law in Australia since 2015 and have delivered undergraduate and postgraduate subjects at Australian National University, Australian Catholic University, University of Technology Sydney and Western Sydney University.
