Biography

I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Young and Resilient Research Centre, at the Institute for Culture and Society, Western Sydney University. In my work, I explore the opportunities and challenges of digital communication technologies in Public Communication. I investigate the use of social media in public and political communication and our everyday life, with a particular focus on online listening and monitoring activities through social media analysis.

I have taught courses on research methods, digital media, social media analysis, data visualisation and public communication at Western Sydney University.

I hold a PhD in Public Diplomacy and Social Media (Institute for Culture and Society, Western Sydney University).

As part of my community engagement, I am President of Com.It.Es. (Committee For Italians Abroad) for New South Wales.

I am currently working on the project titled "New Possibilities: Young People and Democratic Renewal". In this project, we will map student climate action around Australia, conduct surveys, social media and legacy media analysis, and in-depth interviews. From this, we will generate case studies, longitudinal and rich insights into what moves young people to become political active and how they are conceptualising and making politics in a time of climate crisis.

More information about the project in the Young and Resilient Research Centre's website.
