Biography
Dr Engi Messih's expertise is in Evidence and Criminal Law with a particular focus on marginalised communities and groups. Her research involves an examination and critique of the Australian double jeopardy exceptions with an emphasis on victimology, and the marginalisation of Indigenous communities in the justice system.
Engi has a strong interest in the pedagogy of teaching law to non law students and has extensive experience in teaching students first in family and from marginalised communities.
Engi is a first-year teaching specialist, and has taught Fundamentals of Australian Law; Criminal Law; Evidence Law; Torts Law; Statutory Interpetation; Constitutional Law; Government and Public Law; and Enterprise Law.
